Although it’s great ammunition for conspiracies about the powerful and their goal to keep the ‘lower classes’ down. There is no evidence that the World Economic Forum (WEF) has a stated goal to ensure no individual owns private property by 2030.
The quote, ‘by 2030 you’ll own nothing and be happy’ was from a social media video in which the presenter discusses possible predictions about the world for better or worse. It’s not a stated goal of the WEF.
It’ll be like predicting or discussing the possibility of rising crime in a region by 2030 and someone else upon hearing that, claiming that’s a goal of yours.
Danish politician Ida Auken who wrote the prediction stated,
The piece aimed to start a discussion about some of the pros and cons of the current technological development. When we are dealing with the future, it is not enough to work with reports. We should start discussions in many new ways. This is the intention with this piece.
The WEF’s United Nations ‘Agenda 30’ framework, is a set of Sustainable Development Goals devised in 2015 at the United Nations General Assembly. Goal 1.4 states,
By 2030, ensure that all men and women, in particular the poor and the vulnerable, have equal rights to economic resources, as well as access to basic services, ownership and control over land and other forms of property, inheritance, natural resources, appropriate new technology and financial services, including microfinance.
This false information was spread casually and accepted by so many without further research done to find out if it’s actually true. False information is spread by mainstream, established, independent and small media. I often hear people say, don’t trust mainstream media. I agree with this position. However, I would advise we go one step further and trust no media sources. Take everything with a grain of salt, assume anyone can be wrong. Yes, that includes Around the View. Save trust for your partner, family, or friends.
